Taking Life with Chances

This time, with I Want You by Savage Garden playing in my earbud, I was ready to do this.

Like… actually ready.
Pumped, in fact.

It was the perfect time. We were having a great chat while he was helping me out, and somewhere in the middle of it, he opened the door perfectly for me to slide in a casual,
“Would you like to grab a cup of coffee?”

The words were right there, about to come out…

…and then someone walked up behind me to talk about a recent shoplifting situation.

I just giggled to myself.

I swear, this is the universe’s sense of humor.
