Day 1

And just like that, Day 1 is done.

Returning to the hotel around 5am, 47,349 steps later from 6:30pm Friday night to 5:00am Saturday morning, collected mostly from dancing.

My legs are sore, my hair is one giant knot from all the sweat, and I’m exhausted but happy.

Our group of six was made up of four people that have done EDC before, one that has done other festivals but was experiencing EDC for the first time, and one whose first festival ever was last night.

Bold choice for a first festival.

Getting to share that experience with them was honestly one of my favorite parts of the night.

Watching their faces as they walked up those stairs for the first time, taking in the view, dancing, and feeling the energy out there was honestly one of my favorite parts of the night.

I also got introduced to some DJ’s that were new to me.

Chris Lorenzo and Sofi Tukker ended up being my favorite sets of the night.

We ended the night at Porter Robinson, which took me on a beautiful emotional journey.

A few tears were definitely shed.

I haven’t gotten much sleep the last couple nights, and between all the dancing and lack of sleep, my body is definitely feeling my age. LOL.

But honestly, I firmly believe this is part of self-care for me.

Being surrounded by people that mean the world to you while dancing the night away does something good for the soul.

By the time I catch my flight home Monday, mine is going to be very full.

And now we rest for a bit before doing it all again tonight.

Which I am particularly excited for.
